MICROGDS 2010 April 2010 ============= Welcome to MicroGDS 2010 bug fix release from Informatix Software International Limited. The installation contains a number of fixes to the 2010 release. You can install this to a new machine or use it to update an existing 2010 installation without removing the old version. ------------ DVD contents ------------ * Versions of MicroGDS for 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems * Microsoft(R) .NET Framework 3.5 * DirectX 9.0c (February 2010) * Piranesi 2010 Lite It is recommended that you take the update to Internet Explorer 8 which is offered by Microsoft Update. ----------------------------------- Improvements since the 2010 release ----------------------------------- General ------- A problem that meant R/ and R\ prefixes in inclusion list processing did not work has been corrected. Custom commands added to menus no longer fail to operate after a new document is opened. Clumps corrupted by Alter Reverse, Alter Mirror, mirrored instances... Text blocks with an applied linestyle were treated in a different manner from MicroGDS 10. Export to DWG no longer gives the error: Invalid group code. With Set Edit set to an object filter, objects could not be selected by snapping. Using Alter Path Move on a rectangular photo (Window) primitive now clips the photo correctly. Drag & ctrl-drop a layer in the layer tab of the Document Organizer could sometimes give a "Not called" error message. This has now been fixed. IME now correctly identifies the window with which it is associated. A problem where opening a file with missing linestyles could hang MicroGDS indefin1tely has been fixed. BIM --- Changing IfcDoor panel sizes no longer causes MicroGDS to crash. A problem with using Alter Transform Mirror on an IfcDoor, where the solids were correct but the 2D swing lines were mirrored away from the solid has been fixed. Placing an IfcDoor on a mirrored Wall now correctly cuts the hole in the correct place. Deleting a wall and 2 doors no longer gives the message "Record is deleted". A crash with cross layer links which was caused by the entry in the unresolved links list not being removed when the attribute corresponding to it is deleted (when the layer is unloaded because the window is closed) has been fixed. Several problems caused by object association not being correctly tidied when BIM objects were deleted have been fixed. API --- CadInsertMenuCommand no longer puts commands at the wrong level in the menu. MicroGDS 2010 was updated to allow view perspective angles between 0.1 and 179.9 degrees. However, the ADK wasn't updated and it retained the previous values of 10 to 179. The ADK has now been updated. CadFiler now works on 64-bit operating systems. Also, missing functions in the 32-bit version have been reinstated. --------------------- Important information --------------------- For full information on the new features in MicroGDS 2010, please see the "What's new in MicroGDS 2010" pdf file. You can also browse the "What's new in this version" topic in the online Help. For full details of how to use MicroGDS 2010, in both single-user and multi-user modes, please see the "Using MicroGDS 2010" user guide. 32-bit and 64-bit versions of MicroGDS -------------------------------------- There is now a 64-bit version of MicroGDS that you can install onto a machine running a 64-bit version of Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. This enables you to take advantage of the improved memory handling of a 64-bit machine. You can run the 32-bit version on a 64-bit machine, but not the other way around. If you have a 64-bit machine, you might want to consider installing the 32-bit version of MicroGDS if you have existing MicroGDS CPD databases that you want to continue to use. These databases are created with Jet 4.0 and Microsoft do not provide a 64-bit version of the Jet driver. 64-bit application support -------------------------- If you install the 32-bit version of MicroGDS on a 64-bit operating system, you will be offered the option of installing the "MicroGDS 2010 64bit Application support" module. This is only necessary if you intend running CadLink .NET applications with MicroGDS.
